Resilient Glendermackin Landscape Recovery

The Resilient Glenderamackin Landscape Recovery Project is an ambitious multi-million 20-year landscape-scale project that will work with land managers to improve the condition of protected sites, create and enhance wildlife friendly habitats, reduce flood risk to downstream communities, improve water quality and mitigate against climate change across the Glenderamackin catchment in the Lake District National Park.

Interreg NWE Wetlanders

Great Yorkshire Rivers Partnership

Great Yorkshire Rivers (GYR) is a partnership between Environment Agency (EA), The Rivers Trust and Yorkshire Water set up in 2009 to tackle the removal of over 100 artificial barriers to fish migration working with local stakeholders, environmental interest groups and local authorities. In 2022 the Great Yorkshire Rivers (GYR) was formalised by the three main partners with the ambition to tackle of all significant barriers along Yorkshire’s rivers by 2043.

The Woodlands for Water project ran from October 2021 – March 2025. It was the first project developed by the Riverscapes partnership, which, with support from Defra, aimed to create 1,600 hectares of trees in six river catchment areas from Devon to Cumbria.
